A Message From

SERF President

Bishop Wade H. & Yolanda Ferguson, III

Greetings from the Church of God Southeast Regional Fellowship as we gird and anticipate 2020’s conference which will be held April 16-19, in Kannapolis, NC.

As SERF president it has been an honor and privilege for Yolanda and I to have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of all past SERF presidents and spouses. Having just completed our 26th year of the SERF conference we are looking forward to this 27th year……the next (Movement) in SERF. This pursuit I believe aligns itself with the very message that is being echoed from the highest level of governance in the Church of God…….and it is with this belief that we continue to proceed forward with this (Clarion) call from God as well, therefore:

Our supporting scripture is derived from Ezekiel 37:1-14

As President of the Southeast Regional Fellowship, I encourage you to make every effort to meet us in Kannapolis, NC where we have chosen to continue “Bringing the Pieces together- Movement II”,  for fellowship, to be trained, equipped, developed and inspired, and receive direction to help cultivate the preparedness  necessary to Finish in the Spirit and Power of Pentecost.

This will be accomplished through the unique structure that SERF has designed and put in place from its inception and continues to be an integral part of what our founders had in their hearts to see. It than becomes paramount for SERF participants to “Become Ready Servants” who will utilize their gifts and talents to “Finish In The Spirit and Power of Pentecost”, so that we can reap a Harvest for the Kingdom of God.

We must continue to do our due diligence with understanding and commitment as (we have been chosen for such a time as this) In the “I Have A Dream Speech” spoken by the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. captured the essence of the (Movement) by one phrase… “The Fierce Urgency of Now.”  I believe that we are (still living) in “The Fierce Urgency of Now”. Families and communities have experienced tough economic times, natural disasters and economic calamity.  We have seen home foreclosures, job loss, sickness and disease and a shift in our family values. Men’s Health along with Fatherlessness continues to be ignored. People are moving and running towards self-sustainment instead of a (reliance on God and a healthy lifestyle).

Dr. King as pastor and church leader stepped to the forefront of the “The Fierce Urgency of Now”, it is time for us as pastors and churches (i.e. Church of God) to once again follow the ensample of Dr. King, for the bible supports this thought, plan and action in Jeremiah 3:15 (KJV)
15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

“The Fierce Urgency of Now” by continuing its efforts to establish” a new generation of ambassadors …(this still is the fierece urgency of now…)  so it is with that understanding and importance of SERF…that we continue to (build-up) SERF in it’s unique roll and its relationship of being a Church of God organization.

We cannot allow ourselves to become frail in  leadership….. Leadership than has to look different and sound different….. We must now be totally inclusive…for frail & fearful leadership  produces frail& fearful communities, frail & fearful communities produces frail & fearful families, frail & fearful families produce frail & fearful generations who never reach the maximum of their potential or their existence……We must learn how to unify and fight as one or stay divided and continue to die as many…

It is my prayer as SERF presses forward that we will become the  (Model)“for others to follow and that SERF will be positioned to (impact) in every field of human endeavor.

May God continue to bless you all.
